NEWS LETTER 2006

The first half of 2006 was spent in domestic grounding. Kathy had a new baby to grow with and Paul & Margie had several acres to grow into on their new property in Oregon and Nina went back to teaching piano full-time through the Suzuki Association at Modesto Junior College. She was very happy to have more free time to travel to Utah and Missouri to see her 4 children and 8 grandchildren. Kathy began performing with Hot Club, a Djano Reinhardt inspired band, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Margie began teaching music at The Delphian School, as well as private harp lessons and Paul continued composing and preparing for upcoming CDs and tours. It was good time for recharging the batteries and revitalizing the creative juices.

Come July we hit the road with a vengeance, traveling from Southern California up to the San Francisco Bay Area, with a special concert in Pacifica to celebrate Pacifica Performances 30th Anniversary Gala. We were invited to participate, as we were the only group to have performed in every different venue that Pacifica Performances had used during its 30 years!

We traveled on up to Oregon and Washington to fill out a month of traveling some thousands of miles and several concerts. Quite a change from the tranquil 6 months we'd all spent previous to getting back on the road.

In August we continued to tour all over Oregon and Washington, winding up our summer tour at the beginning of September. The summer is a fantastic time in the Pacific Northwest and is very conducive to outdoor performances.

We started off the Winter with a few Celtic New Year concerts in Oregon. These are always fun, as we get to celebrate Halloween the way the Celts used to. Our Christmas concerts and performances at the Christmas Holiday fairs were jam packed. Many have told us that it just isn't Christmas without a Golden Bough concert!
