Upon an Island
© 1981 - 2004 by Paul Espinoza, Forest Moon Music, BMI, all rights reserved

- 1-
Upon an island, lonely lay the lad of deepest blue,
Upon the clouds the heavens touch the girl of midnight hue,
The sun, his question of her thoughts, rising in her skies,
The stars her answer to his heart, shining in her eyes.

- 2 -
Lightly fall her raindrop tears upon the bed of green,
Gently glide her memory song over the rainbow scene,
Morning dew upon his lips, he wish it were her kiss,
Branch of willow, her silken hair, comfort his loneliness.

- 3 -
Gently though the night he cry for dawn to bring the day,
To wander lonely on the shore, where waves and seas and play,
Quiet as his thoughts of her, she lingers near his soul,
To share his loss, his broken heart, comfort her evermore.
