- 1 -
If you look inside the window, late at night when everyone's asleep,
You’ll see something wonderful, something that will surely make you weep.
Something that is more than midnight magic, something more than just another dream.
You'll believe in something more than life and death and fate's eternal scheme.

- 2 -
There's a doll of porcelain and, delicate,
she dances through the night.
She moves her body like the wings of an angel on her never ending flight.

The wooden figurines are deeply dreaming,
bought to life by love's eternal sigh.
Catch the sight of love's creation through
the starlit window you pass by.

- chorus -
Oh, to, see the shop, the wondrous shop of fantasy,
Dwelling on the edge of what could be.

- 3 -
Daylight children gazing full of wonder, counting pennies In their hands.
Pouring forth affection on these magic beings, lifelike where they stand.
The hands that shape these fine and simple toys, alive with children's hope and happy noise,
Evoking mystery deep within and smiling with the knowledge doubt destroys.

- chorus -
Oh, to, see the shop, the wondrous shop of fantasy,
Dwelling on the edge of what could be.

- 4 -
You can find your way at twilight,
across the bridge suspended in mid air,
Down the street that turns at sunset, the toymaker is waiting for you there.
