- Chorus -
Rain, rain, rain and thunder, wake the thirsty earth from slumber.
Rain, rain, rain and thunder falling on the ground
- 1 -
If I had a piece of ground, then I would plant seeds all around,
beans and peas and corn so sweet, the things I like to eat.
If I had the time to grow it, plant and water, rake and hoe it,
it would be the greenest garden anyone has seen.
- 2 -
With some loving and affection, it would be close to perfection,
I would spend my evening hour eating cauliflower.
With a little time to tend it, nurture, weed it and befriend it,
it would be the greenest garden anyone has seen.
- 3 -
If they had enough sunlight to make them grow and stand upright,
stalks and flowers, creeping vines, they would be so fine.
Dandelions all about to keep unfriendly creatures out,
it would be the greenest garden anyone has seen.
- 4 -
Deep inside us, everyone, there's a garden full of sun.
If you plant your ideas there and tender them with care,
Letting all your dreams go free, 'til they become reality,
you will have the grandest garden anyone has seen.
