Lovely Molly

- 1 -
Tell me of the fancy ladies dressed in finest lace,
Of their beauty, of their charm and of their matchless grace
Dressed in simple cotton, a smile and nothing more,
Molly, lovely Molly is the one that I adore.

- 2 -
All the words of poets cannot touch her rare beauty,
All the songs of love can make her no more dear to me,
I hold her beauty to my heart, I dream of her caress.
Molly, lovely Molly is the one that I love best.

- 3 -
Gentle as her heart may be, her soul is filled with fire,
The passion in her eyes bespeaks the depths of her desire,
Wild as the wind on a winter's night or soft as a spring dawn,
Molly, lovely Molly to you my heart belongs.

- 4 -
I've watched her from a distance as she walks down by the sea,
Watched the wind caressing her and blowing her hair free,
Felt the love rise in me as I looked into her eyes,
Molly, lovely Molly, I love you for all time,
Molly, lovely Molly I pray you will be mine.

When we performed in Japan, a friend translated the 2nd verse of Lovely Molly for us to sing in Japanese. Here it is:

Koyoba mi iemu uruwashisa yo,
Utai tsukusenu itoshisa yo,
Kimi o kono teni idakatara,
Molly, lovely Molly, Saiai no hito.
